My New PVS-14
I recently bought a PVS14 from a lady on Ebay. I called ITT with the s/n to be sure it wasn‘t DOD property even though it didn‘t have a contract number. It wasn‘t but he wouldn‘t tell me exact specs on the tube. I got the whole package for $2100. To my suprise, when I got it, it was making the whining sound. ITT confirmed it was autogated and he said it was a F9815AG Pinnacle but I‘m not sure. The halo is the same size as the ENVIS I sold earlier. The image is spectacular with only a small pepper sized blem in the extreme 6‘oclock position. the whole deal came with 2 Rhino PASGT type mounts, LIF,Beacon JR, shuttered eyecup, weapon mount, headgear, j-arm, demist shield, sacraficial lens, manual, lens paper of course. green carry bag and military style steel can with no markings. I was stoked when I realized it was autogated. I know it‘s a good deal. The guy at ITT said it was probably OMNI V...I wonder if it was OMNI VI!!! because the expiration of the warranty is AUg 07‘. He seemed a bit wishy washy on the details. It feels good when the ITT specialists says you have a great tube even if he won‘t say what exactly it can do spec wise. I would open it up to get details off the tube but have no way to purge. Wish someone in SAlem Oregon area could purge.
Cheers!

Don‘t fret too much about the purge

If it‘s not misting up, then the purge is probably OK :)

purge
Do these things usually lose purge with age? I tried looking through the eyepiece for info on the tube, but can only see about 6 numbers, the others are covered. It would‘ve been easier if ITT would release the spec info.

Yes

Nitrogen slowly leaks out... Other gasses slowly leak in.
